Our Journey
UPCorp Global was initially started and incubated at Lund University’s VentureLab (now part of LU Innovation) from 2019 to 2021, where we developed our mission to bridge the gap between labour migrants, remittance recipients, and local financial services.
As with many early-stage initiatives, particularly those working in the migration and development space, we faced significant challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, which led us to pause operations. From 2021 to early 2025, UPCorp Global remained in hibernation.
In 2025, we are now relaunching with renewed focus, updated tools, and a clear strategy, which marks a new chapter in our commitment to advancing financial inclusion for migrant communities.
